The Death of The Great Molly Ivins

The world lost Molly Ivins last night. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mrs. Ivins work, she was a columnist who pulled no punches. Always pushing to expose the ridiculousness and hypocrisy in our government, through humor and satire, through courage and wit, she was known for her candid, blatant statements which often hit home with the american people.
“The president of the United States doesn’t have the sense God gave a duck. So it’s up to us. You and me.”

Now they turn to Stephen Colbert or Al Franken. Jon Stewart even. But in print media, there was Molly.

Mrs. Ivins suffered from cancer, which had spread throughout her body and had been hospitalized before her passing, writing her final post on January 11th.
In it she stated: ““We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war.”

I urge people to read some of Molly’s posts, catch up on her work
